Regina Rosarii Visits
the Dibabawon Tribe

The Dibabawon tribe, a small and often isolated indigenous community in Davao de Oro, believes that God (Magbabaya) often sends the Spirit of Bantoy (God’s Messenger) when they are in need.

They must have felt Bantoy came to their community yesterday when the Regina Rosarii community in Tagum (Sisters, ROCA Tagum and ROCA Youth) held their Alay sa Inyo, a pre-Christmas gift giving for them.

Led by our foundress and superior general Sr. Eppie Brasil, OP, the spirit of generosity embodied by the members, became a source of hope and inspiration to the Dibabawon who have not recovered from a series of disasters since Typhoon Pablo damaged their communities. They have still to recover from the pandemic when a massive rat infestation destroyed their farms.

The food packs from the Regina Rosarii will surely mitigate hunger for a short period of time.

The activity was held at the Dibabawnon Elementary School in Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

The activity was also supported by ROCA DAVAO, Anak Foundation, Tagum Coop and NCIP Davao North.
